LOL I guess mr gerb didn't even look at the link in question. Apple is in free fall. The last 6 months apple has shrinked by 30% while Nokia has increased by 30%. Granted Nokia could only go up from the position they were in, but that doesn't explain apple.

Unless apple doesn't launch something fresh next year instead of yet another infinitesimal upgrade, they are gone. I'm not sure the death of apple will be a good thing for Nokia though. Right now Nokia is nicer than apple, nicer to the wallet and cooler hw. Nokia is much better bolted together, software and hardware, than any android phone. I think android camp has more to gain if apple should die than Nokia have.

4.21 dollars now

I have to link to this article http://msn.fool.com/investing/genera...rd-advant.aspx

It misses the all so obvious. Apple is hardly doing any R&D !!!! For the last 5 years they have only reiterated existing design, and the existing design didn't need any R&D to start with. Apple is a engineering and design bureau, a production and marketing/logistics bureau. But they are no R&D bureau. Nokia is almost opposite. They have failed in everything except production/logistics. They have used way too much money in unfocused R&D. But they are getting better each day. Apple is still surfing the wave from the initial iPhone splash. That wave is loosing momentum fast, and apple will sink like a rock. Maybe in 20 years they can do a new wave when the others have developed enough new fancy technology, but lack the brain power to utilize it properly commercially.

I think apple is smart, milking while it can. And they have been milking the crowd for a while now. But I would never write off their creativity. They always rise to the occasion. They are making a mistake in staying a niche company. They need to expand and license. But that is not their model. That is why I think windows has a good,chance....

Helsinki ended at 3.2 €
They always rise to the occasion
As far as I remember they have done that exactly two times throughout history. After the initial rise and fall came the iPod. Then the iPhone. Some will include the iPad, but Android and MS will get past already next year.

Wrong. I looked. 4-8% isn't a downfall, and besides, the AAPL stock was overpriced. It'll decline more for AAPL, but NOK is almost flatlined with a slight spike up to $4 USD. I see AAPL hitting a new "low" of about $200 - which is still worth more than $4.

They have cash reserves that most countries would love to have.

I'm not sure the death of apple will be a good thing for Nokia though.
Actually, Apple failing now will help RIM if they launch BB10 to more acclaim. Apple failing will not help Nokia. Nokia and Microsoft are so intertwined, it'll take Microsoft to start to succeed to hit a new high instead.

Right now Nokia is nicer than apple...
Dude... the Death Star is nicer than Apple right now.

...nicer to the wallet and cooler hw.
Only on contract for the most part.

Disagree. Android is gaining for many reasons, Apple defections isn't really one that adds to the list in a significant way. Same for Nokia - they're not benefitting from any Apple exodus at the moment.

Been using Lumia 920 for a week now. Great phone. It does heat up when charging but no other issues. Nokia maps are great, email fantastic, keyboard best after apple, and I love the large tiles and font. The call quality is soooo much better than N9. It will do well.

Apple trying to build their own death star. Release next year. If it's fail. They are doomed. They are also trying to patent it, not sure what disney says about that.
