Nuance Unveils Swype Living Language
Nuance Innovates Crowd Sourcing for the Keyboard; Swype Living Language Learns from Users around the Globe.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=xocNFVwvVgw

Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) today announced a further evolution of intuitive and intelligent keyboards with the launch of Swype Living Language. An evolution of the Hotwords technology announced in September, Swype Living Language uses crowdsourcing to analyze new words and phrases in real-time, continuously updating our language dictionaries.

The Swype keyboard has undergone a rapid transformation in the last year. In addition to integrating the power of Dragon voice recognition, Swype has also been augmented by integrating with personalized, intelligent dictionaries that learn and adapt to the words and phrases that people use most. Now, Swype Living Language allows people who opt-in to share and receive trending words and phrases in real-time, creating an up-to-date, crowd-sourced language model. The result is a predictive input experience that is incredibly simple and fast, with relevant, trending words and phrases supported as you swype, write, speak or tap.

Swype now also features Smart Editor, which analyzes an entire sentence, flagging any potential errors for a quick fix and update, including suggesting the most likely alternatives based on contextual analysis.

Swype has also expanded dictation capabilities and now supports Dragon Dictation in a dozen new languages including Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Greek, Hebrew, Malay, Romanian, Slovak, Turkish, Thai, Vietnamese, and Ukrainian.

“Swype continues to be the best keyboard in the industry, leading the way with innovations that really work and that people really use – and Swype Living Language is yet another example,” said Aaron Sheedy, vice president, text input, Nuance Mobile. “By leveraging the cloud and crowd-sourcing input from around the world, Swype provides users with a device that further humanizes interactions through touch—and changes the way our increasingly dynamic language is learned and used.”

Vuzix Android-based Smart Glasses could beat Google Project Glass to market

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=EhzORzyaLAU

The Vuzix setup is pretty simple. You get the earpiece, a microUSB port for charging and updating software, a few buttons for navigation, and of course the over-eye screen, which simulates your smartphone display from a distance of 10 inches. The Smart Glasses do have their own processor and other internal hardware, so they can run basic applications without pairing to a smartphone.
As you will see in the video above, the spokesperson we talked to was hesitant to call Smart Glasses a true competitor to Project Glass, but the innovative product is definitely after a similar market. The biggest difference, though, is that Vuzix will be ready to ship their Android-based glasses by summer for less than $500. We’re still waiting for Google to deliver their pricey early developer preview.

Lenovo unveils 27-inch coffee table PC

Lenovo has unveiled a home tabletop touch-screen computer and people can now enjoy different photos, music and video on the same screen.

The product was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Sunday.

The 17.8-pound, 27-inch Windows 8 Pro machine, christened the IdeaCenter Horizon Table PC, should be available "beginning early summer" at a starting price of $1,699, the company said.

"Horizon makes personal computing interpersonal computing with shared, collaborative experiences among several people," said Peter Hortensius, president of Lenovo's product group, according to the Daily Mail.

The Horizon Table PC takes advantage of Windows 8's touch-based features to support multi-player gaming among other activities. It runs NVIDIA GeForce graphics as well as 'heart-pounding' Dolby Home Theater v4 audio, Hortensius said.

"Now many people can enjoy different photos , music and video on the same screen, and they can play games with our special accessories that blend physical and digital interaction," Hortensius said.

The computer can transform into a 27-inch desktop for those who want to use it for solitary purposes.

There is one trade-off for all of those features. The Horizon Table PC contains only two hours of battery life when not connected to a wall-socket.

Lenovo is also getting ready to market a Horizon Multimode Table that will let users change the angle and height of the PC from lying down flat to facing the user like a normal monitor.

Lenovo launches Erazer X700 gaming PC with one-button overclocking

Pundits keep telling us that hardcore gaming on the PC is dead, but no one has apparently informed Lenovo of that "fact". After years of pumping out fairly bland desktops, the Chinese computer power has just introduced a gaming PC that looks nothing like the rest of its output.

Dubbed the Erazer X700, the new system will compete against Alienware desktops, the Acer Predator series, and numerous boutique gaming PCs. As such, it will offer the requisite specs, such as the latest Intel Core i7 Extreme processor, up to 32GB of RAM and 4TB of hard drive storage, and support for AMD CrossFireX dual-graphics technology.

Formerly only available on PCs from dedicated gaming builders, built-in liquid cooling is now available from major manufactuers (such as HP's Envy Phoenix desktops), and the Erazer X700 is no exception. In addition, Lenovo makes overclocking easy -- really easy -- by placing a big button on the front panel that lets you overclock on-demand with a single click.

You'll have to wait a little bit to get your hands on the Erazer X700, however. The new gaming desktop won't be available until June, and it won't be cheap. Leonovo says the starting price for the system will be "approximately" $1,499.

MOGA Pro gaming controller brings more traditional layout for mobile

While the original MOGA is not a bad controller at all (it’s still one of the best for Android devices, actually) the MOGA Pro seems to be the one gaming controller we’ve all been waiting for. Unfortunately PowerA didn’t give us a price to look forward to just yet, but we imagine it’ll be a little more expensive than the $50 they’re currently asking for the current model.

The launch is Spring 2013, but no specific date can be circled just yet. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for word on its arrival, though, so be sure to keep it tuned here as we look to bring you all of the exciting details surrounding this exciting device. Read on for full press details.

MOGA™ Mobile Gaming System Expands

to Include Console-Style MOGA Pro Controller

MOGA Pro Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas This Week

Woodinville, WA. – January 7, 2013 – PowerA™ unveils a new addition to the MOGA™ Mobile Gaming System at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 8-11 — the console-style MOGA Pro Controller. MOGA Pro is a full-featured mobile game controller that transforms your Android into a mobile gaming system and brings a familiarity console gamers will appreciate.

Features of the MOGA Pro include a full-sized console-style grips, precision dual analog sticks, 4 action buttons, a classic directional pad, two shoulder buttons, two shoulder triggers, rechargeable batteries, USB charging cord and a tablet stand. Additionally, MOGA Pro comes with the full support of the MOGA Mobile Gaming System, including wireless Bluetooth synching with Android phones and tablets, the MOGA arm that secures phones up to 3.2 inches wide and the MOGA Pivot App.

“The response to our MOGA pocket-sized controller from Android gamers has been fantastic, and we’re now excited to give mobile gamers true, console-style control with MOGA Pro,” said Eric Bensussen, President of PowerA. “Now more than ever, mobile gamers will feel at home with a traditional controller while playing the huge variety of games available on the MOGA Mobile Gaming System.”

MOGA Pro will be available in Spring 2013 (price TBD).

About MOGA

The MOGA Mobile Gaming System combines three key innovations. MOGA controllers are the first state-of-the-art controllers designed specifically for mobile devices. The original MOGA is pocket-sized, streamlined and very portable. The MOGA Pro allows mobile gamers to play with the same familiarity and control schemes that they are used to playing on their console systems. Both controllers connect via Bluetooth® wireless technology, and feature the controls that mobile gamers and developers demand. In addition, the MOGA Software Development Kit (SDK) provides mobile game developers greater precision, robust control and enhanced display abilities while enabling fast, efficient development of rich new game titles and MOGA enhancement of existing titles. Finally, the MOGA™ Pivot App enables gamers to easily browse, find and play a list of MOGA Enhanced Games in one convenient location. MOGA Pivot App is available free via Google Play.

The original pocket-sized version of MOGA was released on October 22, 2012 to critical acclaim, and has attracted support from top mobile developers and publishers who want to bring console-like precision and control to their Android phone and tablet-based games. Gameloft, Rockstar, SkyVu Entertainment, MADFINGER Games, Namco Bandai, SEGA, Arb Studios, Vector Unit and other acclaimed publishers have developed MOGA Enhanced blockbuster titles such as Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Tiki Kart 3D, NFL Pro 2013, The Dark Knight Rises HD, N.O.V.A. 3, Sonic CD, and Jet Set Radio. New game titles, developers and publishers are coming on board each month. For a complete list of games that support MOGA, visit www.PowerA.com/MOGA.

The MOGA system supports Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and higher mobile devices. The pocket-sized MOGA is now available for an estimated retail price of $49.99 USD at Best Buy, Walmart, Toys”R”Us, Fred Meyer, Gamestop, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon and a nationwide network of additional retailers and carrier stores. It is also available through Amazon and PowerA.com.
