Is anyone else using the "book type" with the clear plastic over the keyboard? Just looking for some more feedback on it, especially how well the keyboard works underneath it.

I am. The clear plastic really doesn't affect typing at all. In fact it gives it more of a spongy feel instead of a cold metallic click. The only thing you have to watch out for is if you get the clear plastic crumpled in any way, because then it makes it difficult to put the Nokia back in the case; it's keyboard in first, close the rest over the plastic. Bottom line is I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with the fit and the quality and as far as typing, yes it's all about getting used to typing on a different feel, but then it becomes second nature.

how about this one.. does anyone have this type of case and can you give some feedback on it. I'm particularly interested to know if you need to remove the 810 from the case in order to use the keyboard. Also, does it close with magnetic studs or are they the type that snap in.

Another Q with folks with the the booklet-type case (like this link below):
The location of the extra memory card slots makes me think that with the slightest compression, those extra cards could touch/scratch the surface of the screen. Is there some sort of gap or contact I don't see that keeps these from reaching the surface of the 810?

took another look at that issue for you; it's like the front of the case is curved enough that the extra memory cards would never actually come in contact with the screen when closed ( peeked through the opening when the case was closed to see if that was a fact ), so the chances of cards touching it are pretty slim even when grasping the booklet case in your hand because the flap that covers the screen seems to be pretty solid and like I said has a small curve to it, so it would take a lot for it to actually come in contact with the screen, so I think you are good to go there.

I have the case that is listed on ebay, overall it is a nice case and it keeps it well in tact, the only issue is when using the keyboard it can be a real pain to access it since the top slides up and the plastic that they do not really show you in the photos keeps the unit snug. This causes you to really take the N810 out in order to flip up the screen to use the keyboard. Is it better than the one they give you? Definitely, although it is not the ultimate case for it, perhaps one will come out later that supports the N810 better, until then I will keep the case because the cost is low and it does protect it much better than what is included in the box when you buy the N810. I will put some photos and perhaps a video of the case so others can see it in action.

I also just received the same case. The outside front lower right is stamped 'Carry Mobile'. The N810 fits well in it, and the plastic does not seem to snag the slider either going up or down. It's a good question as to if memory cards in the two slots in the inside upper portion of the case will over time scratch the screen. I'd say miniSD cards will not, particularly if you put them in sideways although this will make getting them out more difficult. A SD to miniSD adapter, being larger, has more of its surface exposed and might be more likely to scratch. This would, I suspect, depend in part on where/how you store the case. Somewhere where the cover was constantly bumped would increase the odds.

Thanks for the video review! It's good to have a close up look like that. I don't like the plastic keyboard cover, it doesn't seem all too secure, and it makes it a little clumsy to extend and use the keyboard. I don't think I will be getting one of these.

The case I have for my old Fujitsu Stylistic 500 has straps such as those you envision, though on the Stylistic's case they run diagonally to form an "X", not horizontally and vertically. Such a configuration would seemingly work well for Internet tablet cases also.

(And for Hedgecore, the Stylistic's case wasn't leather.)
