Actually I have another NOKIA AC-10E chager , but the issue is while charging the screen become unresponsive and the screen behaves in a bad way like auto opening of applications and showing some grid lines on the screen.....

Usually unresponsive screen means that the charger is giving fluxuating electricity (ie is broken, also happens with cheap dealextreme chargers), I've had couple of those in my days. Throw that to carbage bin and buy a working one.

I've had the most interesting variation of results with USB-charging and the N9. The original nokia cables seem to work with PC-USB-ports but not with 3rd party solutions. Generic cables with PC-USB are recognised as data but not charging cables, etc. etc. I even filed a bug:

http://harmattan-bugs.nokia.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1098

This in connection with the battery management bug (suddenly dropping to 4%, not charging fully) are the most serious bugs Nokia never bothered to fix. I'm half of a mind to sue them for it (I still have warranty on my devices).

Thats totally different issue and that feature (not a bug) can be solved by following instructions here http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=83519&page=2 with that non-standard external powerpacks start to work.

Today i tried with the Nokia CA-101D(short length USB data cable) which comes with Nokia N8 mobile , it is perfectly working fine and the phone is 100% charged.
I don't understand the problem with CA-101(long cable).. any physics student here to answer the issue....

You may not realize because both the bug and my message are summary but: NO that's the VERY issue and you kindly confirmed it to me. Thanks, however

To sum it up:
Nokia charging solutions not working with Nokia phones is a BUG.
Nokia USB cabling not conforming with USB standard is a BUG.
Nokia phones not conforming with standard USB cabling is a BUG.

The N9 being the ONLY Nokia phone I have acing all of the above bugs (a N900 has no issues with these, unless we assume that the N9 is actually OK but it is the N900 that is fundamentally flawed in this regard) I find it rather strange that you think it a "feature".

Easy:

If the CA-101D is actually a "data" cable in Nokias eyes, chances are it conforms with USB-standards because it really is a plain USB cable.

Whereas the CA-101 is Nokia's own interpretation of an USB-cable (with Nokia's idea of charging functionality added) and therefore is likely not really an USB-cable.

Sorry to disappoint you, all Nokia branded cables conforms to USB standard, there is _no_ difference between CA-101 vs CA-101D cables, other than that D is much sorter, so you get more mA's through it. So your bug claims are just funny.

What N9 does is the check the datapins, and if pins are not shorted, then it can only charge the battery at max 500mA level, and if d+ and d- is shorted, then it assumes that its connected to external charger and then it can charge power at 1000mA which means that your phone charges faster with d+d- shortened. (and it also goes in charging mode even if your charger only offers 100+mA's)

So basicly if you charge with a long standard usb cable from laptop then N9 can in some cases only see 50mA-200mA and refuse to charge at all. With shorter cable it sees 300-500mA and can trigger charge mode on.

You can compare this to foreample to Apple's non-standard resistor trickery to d+ d- pins in order for external chargers to work like in here http://www.sinfuliphone.com/showthread.php?t=31301
Which just means that if you try to use non-standard iphone chargers to charge N9, it wont work unless you build shorted d- d+ adapter in between.

In summary, all the usb cables are standard, and each manufacturer has its own proprietary trickery to determinate charging mode.

Someone has even made business for it for offering switcher between apple resistor detection vs. d+d- detection: http://elcodis.com/parts/5876568/MAX14550E.html
