[QUOTE=mcbook;1320770]Since some of you might be interested in this.. here's a little HowTo

In order to automatically connect to a VPN when you connect your N9(50) to a wifi network you need to...

1.) install VPN9C (graphical frontend for vpnc on meego harmattan)

you can get it form the store.
(note that with vpnc you can only connect to VPN using IPSec)

2.) create a config file for vpnc (contains all the necesary credentials)

create a .conf file and store it somewhere
It should look somehting like this

3.) install Profilematic and create a new rule

choose your desired wifi network as a condition for the rule

to connect to VPN use this command

to disconnect from VPN once you disconnect from wifi

have fun![/QUOTE

Stupid question maybee but is this the same as can be managed by using app Netview and/or PC program putty.exe?

I don't fully understand your question but...

no, netview app seems to be a VNC server as far as i can tell and putty is afaik a SSH client for windows

this howto talks about VPN and howto automate connections

Thank you but then I don't understand because my Wifi connects automatic going in to my house!
And using Profilematic rule of power saving it close Wifi at saving and open automatic by activating again.
(Have installed Status menu Extensions (coderus))

I don't quite understand the IPsec part. Sorry for the noobish question.

I set up a VPN connection via WiFi on my Laptop having Windows 8. The credentials were:

1. Address
2. Username
3. Password

It worked quite well as I needed to open YouTube which is banned here.

I have tried this method in VPNC in the past but it "required" IPsec configuration. I don't quite understand how to get through it.

Any help??

What You want is probably PPTP VPN-Connection. N9 supports only IPsec Tunnels.

I don 't get what your problem is

If your are in power saving mode any wifi connection is automatically terminated (to save power )

are you trying to say that you activate your wifi again via a profilmatic rule when in power saving mode ?

what does that have to do vpn?
