I guess you're are using some custom voltage profile...

Nothing
Because min of 250 will not give you big benefit.

But I would also say you are running some custom profile. Post output of:
Code:
sudo kernel-config show
Btw: what is "actually power kernel"?
And more important would be which version of kernel-power-settings?

Hello my helpers!

I tried ti fix it. But I am not sure, if I did it right. On my N900 is installed the last Linux Power Kernel (r51) and the last Settings (0.16) version.

Here is config show:

current frequency: 805
supported frequencies: 125 250 500 550 600 720 805 850 900 950 1000 1100 1150
min. frequency: 250
max. frequency: 805
avoid frequencies: 125
active frequencies: 250:24,180 500:37,360 550:40,400 600:42,430 720:47,430 805:51,430 850:60,500 900:60,500 950:60,500 1000:60,500 1100:72,520 1150:72,520
SmartReflex VDD1=1, VDD2=1
governor ondemand: ignore nice load= 0, up threshold= 95, sampling rate= 300000, powersave bias= 0

2-3 years? How old are you if I may ask? My N900 was 3 years old when I bought it. My previous phone is 8 years old and, although a bit battered, it is still running strong. I would not even consider an upgrade if it had WiFi and GPS. 2-3 years? Don't be ridiculous.

BTW my old phone (Palm Treo 600) used to run 10 days of average use (~1-2 hrs on-time a day) on a single charge. I did not use to take a charger with me when I went away for a week. I am currently using it only occasionally, to gradually copy contacts to my N900. So it spends most of the time on standby, but it never goes off (it only does when the battery runs out, which is rather undesirable as it also loses all data). BatteryGraph does not remember the last charge as it only remembers the last 28 days, but it says 31% left. I would love to see any modern phone pull that off.

installed QCPUFreq now....running on power user kernel...V50...
played a song...
minimised...
opened a document...
minimised...
opened conky
minimised
opened QCPUFreq
thought of adjusting and seeing in conky...pulled the slider and reached somewhere near 900...all struck...rebooted...
error message...unexpected reboot, hence now in stock kernel....
does it mean power user kernel is off? how to check which kernel is it now?
those who experimented, could you tell, what min-max setting is best for battery....
im still learning...sorry if questions are stupid...

EDIT--sorry got it now....
uname -r

2.6.28.10-power50
so it means still in power kernel...

You probably have SmartReflex enabled. Use this: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=180

cannot rename '.../QCPUFreq.helper : no such file
didnt understand

EDIT- tried again and again...
mv .../QCPUFreq.helper /opt/usr/bin/QCPUFreq.helper

still same error..i think the post says in power version 50, further tweak is needed to keep it stable...isnt?

You can also install this deb: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=188

Save it in MyDocs
Run in X terminal:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/qcpufreq_0.4.5-1_armel.deb
