Just setup Skype on N800 with OS2008. When I do the test connection and playback the sound is grabled and broken, both on the recorded message played and the voice playback test. When I try it from PC it seems fine. Is this a know issues with Skype currently or is there some way to fix this?

I have the same problem. I use skype on PC (same wireless) without problem, but it's not usable on tablet. I use Gizmo on the tablet without any problems. I use Grandcentral to dial out linked with gizmo.

The last I heard (around November) they were having problems with 2008 that they didn't with 2007. Alongside with excuses that 2008 was beta at the time. When it was official I tried it again with no more success. Whats been more of an enigma to me is that Skype is the one on the tableteer site. Then in another thread I someone said they use skype sending me looking for update/setting information. I assume they meant for chat or voip to voip calls, which apparently always worked but I don't use. I even reported it with skype, received a messages they received it but the never replied.

So can anyone confirm if It's just us?
I see it's still missing on the working software list.

I was using Skype just this morning on OS2008, a conference call between me (in NYC) and participants in Philadelphia and Seattle. Both participants said the connection was just fine, and I could hear them loud and clear.

Do you have any useful tips, or do you have default settings?

My settings are all default; OS2008, Skype version 1.7.62.51, port 36855 'use ports 80 and 443' are checked. In advanced settings, proxy is automatically detected. Perhaps I just get connected to poor proxies EVery time I call from the Nokia, but Never when connecting from PC.

Wish I had some helpful tips, but my settings are the same as yours (all default, same versions of the programs). Are you running anything in the background? The one time my sound quality dropped was when I (foolishly) popped out the web cam in the middle of the call--the system started to launch the webcam app, and Skype didn't like that. Also, is your wifi network signal strong/reliable?

quick tip: lower wifi power saving (it's in the wifi connection setup, next all the way to the last tab and click on advanced) once you do it, enjoy perfect sound
