What you want is all on this page for udating your firmware be sure to read it very clearfully and follow the instructions precisely. If you get stuck post back here explaining where you got stuck and how it happened if you can(be sure to attach any error msgs) and I will help you best I can or maybe someone else. Which PC OS are you using. There are some caveats in some of Microsofts products...
Sometimes it helps to manually unload the USB driver
There are some workarounds described in the lower part of the windows section of the wiki article on flashing.
Usually there are better results when using linux when flashing You could even use some Debian or Ubuntu based Live-CD. Like this great distro from some italian folks http://semplice-linux.sourceforge.net/
I tried downloading ovi suite but it doesn't seem to work with my N900. Can anyone please help me out?
