I've installed omweather and stock ticker and have a few generic desktop applets, occasionaly the system will freeze for a moment then blank out and redraw the desktop except it clears all the desktop applets and doesn't show the load-applet (cpu monitor)

I'm sure that too vauge to diagnose but what i want to do is be able to restart the load-applet without rebooting. I've looked around for the "executable" (you can tell i'm mostly windows based) but to no avail.

I tried this: but got nothing useful
Nokia-N800-50-2:~# grep -r "load-applet" /*

So where would one go looking for this sort of thing (windows/system32 = /user/bin ??) or how else can i restart load-applet

Thanks!

I'm experiencing the same problem...

You lose two batches of settings: the active desktop applets, and the status-bar applets. The former, I know no way to recover save checking all the right boxes. But the latter are easily recoverable.

Open the control panel.
Click 'Panels'.
Click OK.

In the control-panel 'Panels' applet, the settings of the status-bar applets are preserved. Hitting OK re-applies them.
