Exactly. It's not the size, it's how you use it!
Seriously, more pixels is not necessarily a good thing. More pixels on the same die size means the pixels are smaller. Which means more susceptible to shot noise and more easily saturated. In other words, you get pictures with more pixels but fuzzier and with with less dynamics. Burnt out bright spots and black shadows. Trust me, I know.
