That just means you don't have a GPS signal. Are you indoors? Try GPSMeefo (if you have it installed) and see if you can get a signal with that.

Did you try the normal maps application (close the drive app first)
i had this problem once, and i switched on the normal maps application, waited till it gets a signal and then switched over to the drive application.
