noob end user here. Got the n900 last year having used the nokia1100 and 6151 for a long time. Enjoying this resource, ie ploughing through threads and learning some linux basics along the way. Thank you for updating this site and making this vintage phone still the greatest (and only i think) open source phone.

Hey all,

I been hanging around for quite some time now trying to make something useful out of my N900, I mean beyond the it-s-a-smartphone thing, as in it-s-a-computer-with-mobile-phone-capability. I really like the options that I have, but up to now the really horrible battery life kept me from doing anything fancy.
Today I decided that widgets that don't update every second or are spammed by an external source (aka FB widget) can't be that bad, and stubbled across the QBW. Ten hours later, I actually made something nice and shiny.
So since chemist made me actually post what I made, where I'm usually reluctant because I think that my coding is not so slick and usually missing comments whatsoever, I thought maybe I should say hello.

Hello.

and before I forget: special thanks to the CSSU efforts on portrait mode!

Kind regards,

Sarah

Hello,

As most of you, been using nokia since I was a kid.
Then switched to windows mobile (Xperia X1, X2 and so on), then bought HTC HD2, and got into android
Tried almost all androids, up to Galaxy S4, iPhones etc.
Tried webOS, iOS, BB OS, then stayed with android until recently, got tired of it, and bought N9. Saw more opportunities in n900, so sold the n9, and, of course, got n900

Now I have oldie goldie 8910i, 6800 (extravaganza, lol) and n900.
Hoping to get such in-depth knowledge of maemo as I have with android, with such community, I don't think it will take a long time

Cheers!

Hello everyone, I have just registered today and thought it would be rude not to introduce myself!

I have had my N900 for about 3 months now and realize there is a lot to learn!

I do have a few problems though, mainly regarding someone remotely accessing my phone and prevoius others. As I am new to this I dont really know where to start to ask for help. Any advice would be great!

Thanks carebear1

Hey!

N9 user since release and lurker at the forum since around 2011. Love the N9, but the 16gb has limited me quite a bit, so I just ordered my next phone, a black N9 64GB, and looking forward to using it for a bit more than webbrowsing, email and twitter. Hopefully Sailfish after a while, but not getting my hopes up. At least I will have space to try out some more stuff like Nemo and nitdroid.

Hi,

welcome. First search the forum and wiki as best possible and if no illumination, then start a thread explaining what you want to do etc. Any requests get lost here.

Hey! Hey! I have been Lurking for a bit and finally thought it would be good to join. Got a Black N9 64Gb about a year ago and I love it! Would love to start out programming for it and MODing it. Thinking of a clip on NFC/Bt sliding keyboard, ahh but what dreams may come. Well glad to be here and talk. to you soon.
