I know that most of us get enough messages that nagging notification is not necessary, but my sister is a VET and the SMS that she receives are very important (on call).

Is there an app that makes the "SMS sound" notification run at certain intervals until the sms is read?

SMS Tone + works great, you can find it in Nokia store.

I would like to point you to package 'callnotify'.
Works perfectly, exactly what you need. Configurable timing.
Maybe you need to get latest bug-free version from extras-devel or directly from repo package page.

how do I do that? I'm pretty sure I have extras-testing also in my list and the version I've gotten is buggy --- buggy in that it doesn't seem to always work.

I don't see that in the application manager? Paid app?

Buggy yes, but in a way that it rang again and again and did not stop anymore. But always worked ...

If you ask that way, please ask pali to push that version to testing.

Or if you like to learn, here is the link
http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...otify/0.3.0-1/
to the latest version.
get root and install with
dpkg -i callnotify_0.3.0-1_i386.deb
But as it has a few dependencies, you may fail.

So enabling extras-devel in HAM is another way, but you should know what you are doing. Settings for devel you may fetch from testing repo and exchange testing with devel. Be warned.

Urm...

Code:
Nokia-N900:~# dpkg -l | grep callnotify
ii callnotify 0.3.0-2
is 0.3.0-2 bad, then --- it seems to be an upgrade to the -1 that you're advocating...

I am using callnotify for that purpose on the N900, & it works very well.

Ahem,...
Sorry! Posted wrong link from testing, devel 0.3.0-2 it should have been
http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d....0-2_armel.deb

But it seems you already have that version !
So what kind of problems you have? And would you mind to post/ask them in callnotify thread, so maybe yrannadx/pali are notified and can solve, if there are still bugs (I do not know of, working just fine for me)?
