Best-off bumping one (or several) of the threads at Phoronix, it's all been covered there in great detail.
I wish I could recall it all, alas my memory's like a sieve, esp. when it's not my area of interest/speciality.

Well, not really, the only reason why what you say is true is because people need $$$$ and they'll never do [very quickly] anything standard so that we can stick the OS that we want and build/buy the HW that we want. Same happened with PC's years ago, and is still happening nowadays with macs.

I'm happy for Canonical though, despite the fact that I'd never buy a phone/OS combination that forces you to use both hands to operate it. Happy to have another alternative to crappy android and closed ios and wp.

I'd love to know what is the size of the production batch... 1000? 10000? 1000000?

Few other new things from jpel's link:

-Jolla is in negotiations with nordic, german, french, british and italian operators.

-Phones will most likely hit the market in December in Finland, meaning that they will lose big chunk of the christmas market. Also, launch in China could be very close to the chinese new year, again losing at least part of another big holiday market.

So in other words it's quite tiny, nothing surprising there folks...
I hope Dec. is a slight exaggeration, & that they can get it to the 1st markets in Nov, or even Oct.
Dec. is too vicious a time to compete for everyone's wallets, if they're to stand-out, they need users talking about their Jolla Ph at least 1-2 wks before then.

That's no different to what they've been saying for many months now.
Lets hope they surprise us & release slightly earlier, although I won't hold my breath.
