Hmm so should I buy Jolla phone or wait for better hardware phone with Sailfish OS?
Qwerty keyboard would change that to Jolla for sure.

If the Jolla ph doesn't do relatively well for a start-up, then it's unlikely there'll be decent Sailfish-based handsets from other OEM/ODM's.
So, if you want a better Sailfish handset option in the future, get behind the Jolla phone first...

"Vendors interested to utilize Sailfish OS are now able to develop phones and tablets based on many different chipset and hardware configurations."

Presumably this is most interesting if the chosen hardware they are compatible with is widesly used within industry.

Qualcomm?

I would wager its more due to their usage of libhybris for drivers hence now they can run on most chipsets that have drivers for Android...

i agree, but i imagine they have pre-qualified a given SoC/family of SoC's.

+1, so basically any vendor who is pissed off with Big Search Company for being evil can now opt for Sailfish OS as well as any other that is available out there.

Even when Big Electronics Company fails miserably with Tizen*, they can probably use a real OS.

The question then would be whether Jolla will be able to deal with all this noise and make something that will make ererybody happy.

* completely subjective, I'm not a big fan of the Big Electronics Company as most of their stuff basically failed to me, and everything I've seen that they do at a software/UX level is very very bad indeed [to my taste].

Anyone interested in Android app store availability, one store Jolla definitely seem to be behind is F-Droid, according to some of their recent images. Presumably that's due to lack of licensing, as it's all FOSS.

About the Android hardware issue. See the critical comment from the Lima driver developer: http://libv.livejournal.com/25325.html
His points are valid, if libhybris is going to become a permanent thing, instead of a temporary crutch to gain foothold.
