Ah, poop! I had done it via sudo and I can't seem to find a way to do it without. Oh well, it was worth a try, and at least I don't have to reboot for this sort of thing.

This didn't work for me. (yeah, I know it's not critical) Error was:

I tried via ssh; devel-su; dpkg -i and got the banner.
I tried again using the standard installer and it did not work.
I guess the only viable option is for camera+ itself to show the banner upon startup.
source /tmp/session_bus_address.user

Looking good and working well. The strftime() formatting from "Creator Name" field is working great, and I got the dbus banner this time.
A couple of minor things...
- Possibly an off-by-one bug in the image filename. The current date on my N9 is 2013-09-16, but the image files captured today are being named: 2013-09-15_NNN.jpg
- There is some spurious output from dbus-send on the terminal. It is completely harmless but novice users might mistake it for an error. Redirect dbus-send to /dev/null will prevent potential FAQs.
Great work, mate, I love this app!
Installed latest version..works fine..also shows notification after install
