Hi,

I posted this on the General forum before but did not get any responses. Hopefully someone over here can help.
I am having a problem with Quiver. It runs fine, but most of the icons across the bottom of the screen are missing (see screenshot below).

When I start it from an xterm I get the following messages:
Code:

I am running on OS2007HE which may be related.
It runs fine on OS2006 partition. When I start it from an xterm on 2006 it does not come up with the GLib-GObject warning:
Code:
quiver[4934]: GLIB WARNING ** GLib-GObject - IA__g_object_set_valist: object class `GtkSettings' has no property named `gtk-enable-accels'
Maybe this is related to the issue?
Any ideas on what to try next?

Thanks,
-John

hi john:

i think it must be something i did (i'm the quiver developer). i haven't
tested quiver in os2007 since os2008 came out but now that i have
an n810 i can flash os2007 on my n800 and see what has gone
wrong.

i don't think there is anything you can do on your end to get around
this but i'll try to track down the problem and make a new build asap.

it's strange that it works on os2006 though (and os2008).

cheers,

mike

Oh, I see the same thing on my N800 with OS2007 - I hadn't noticed before.

Quiver works great on my n800 with OS2008. Thanks for the great program Mike.

I would like to ask a different question. On my SD card, I added a folder named pictures and filled it up. Quiver doesn't see the pics and I don't want to just load them onto the card not in a folder. How can I get Quiver to see them?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but if we are talking about Quiver I thought I might be able to get this addressed.

Thanks

John & TA-t3:

I've just uploaded a new version (0.1.21) that should fix the icon issue. Let me know if it works.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "Quiver doesn't see the pics". In the folder tree you should be able to click on the "pictures" folder and it should show all the pictures in that directory. You can then add a bookmark for that directory if you like so it is easier to access, or you can even go into the preferences and set that directory as your "Photo Library".

Mike,

Thank-you for the reply. And, again, thanks for a great program.

What I meant was that when I look at the folder tree, I can select "Kingston" (the name of my sd card) and it does not look into the folders on the card. So, it does not see the pictures in my Pictures folder. Also, on the folder tree, I cannot get into the card to select the "Pictures" folder.

By going to preferences under the General tab, I can drill down and select the "Pictures" folder as the photo library, the card now shows the individual folders on the folder tree and I can select the folder. So, I got it to work, but I still think there may be a small glitch that I can't open a card to get to a folder in the folder tree without selecting it as THE photo library in preferences. Of course, operator error is a possibility.

BTW, one of the things I really like about this program is that I can start a music stream, then go to Quiver and run a slideshow. The screen does not dim or go to black during a slideshow. So, with it plugged into power, leave it on the dresser playing music and running a slideshow. Very cool.

thanks for the compliments!

quiver's folder tree works a bit differently than the file manager's folder tree. clicking on the name part of the folder entry will only select it. it will not expand so you can see the subfolders. if the folder entry's icon has a plus sign (+) on it, you can only expand the entry by clicking on the icon. hopefully you do see a plus sign on the icon for the Kingston sd card. let me know if that works.

Then, that's the problem. There is no "+" sign and nothing I do; tap and hold, double tab, whatever, causes more folders to become evident.

I guess I'm surprised if I am the only one having this problem. I would be happy to post a screenshot, but how do you make a screenshot of an n800, use a camera?

also, are you running the latest version of quiver for os2008 (0.1.20)?

Mike,

I am running the most recent Quiver. I'll download that app and try to post a couple screenshots today.
