The train there and back would cost me that 100€ that I've spent on the phone already.. Still if I get confirmation that I'll be one of those who get the phone I'll probably be there.

E: Only 450? hopefully they have reserved some for those who preordered

congrats to the finns, lucky chaps.

if my N9 battery hadn't started to fail (and the bluetooth died), i might have been able to hold on for a UK release.

still the nexus5 was cheap enough that I can come in on v2 whenever it appears.

They are only for people who pre-ordered. Those lucky ones will get invited.

I got a say this is a bit worrying for Jolla customers outside Finland. Though I so did saw this coming seeing how heavily DNA has been partnered with Jolla.
Hopefully Jolla will release their own press release today.

That said I'm happy to be wrong and at least have slight chance of getting the phone as early as this month.

Total + Taxes + Surcharges: MYR 4,368.00 (1,014.46 EUR)

Thing is a bunch of us pre-ordered. And it isn't clear yet how that is now going to be handled. I'm beginning to find Jolla's inabilty to communicate clearly with what we might consider to be its keenest customers rather depressing.

Don´t know whether there really is a difference, but in the English version it reads like this: "The world's first Jolla phones will be primarily sold to those who have made a pre-booking," and in the Finnish version like this: "Maailman ensimmäiset Jolla-puhelimet myydään ensisijaisesti ennakkovaraajille,".

Ensisijaisesti means, well, primarily, but it is a bit stronger word I would say. In the sense that one could interpret that those 450 phones will be sold to those who have pre-ordered and ONLY if there are some left when all who are interested have had a chance to buy are non-orderers allowed to buy the phone.

Good catch. It could also mean that possibly press or some partners would be able to pick to phone, while naturally majority would go for pre-orders.
Or it indeed more likely that as 450 invitations are send, it will make sense that some just can't be there. So people who haven't pre-ordered can pick those up.

Aha - from the DNA press release:

"The lucky first will get their phone on 27 November at the launch and the rest soon after - all who made a pre-booking will be contacted"

Mind you, still feels wrong that we are getting better info from Jolla's partners than from Jolla itself.
