My day suddenly got a whole lot brighter for some strange reason...

The Verge just did some coverage on Jolla.
http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/29/5...nds-on-preview

It seems they aren't impressed by the hardware (too expensive, or too weak), the software (UX, bugs, etc) and the ecosystem (non-existent, Android App Sideloading).

Anyways, that's just the hands-on... a full-review should be available in a couple days/week.

I wonder how The Jolla will improve in the next 6 months.
Will it be just like the Nokia N9? (Where it gets better, but mainly things that should be there from day 1)
I just hope this doesn't disrupt Jolla too much, and a much more ambitious Jolla 2 is in the works.

Here is a small review/notice about the phone from Australia!

http://www.theage.com.au/digital-lif...128-2yb9a.html

It is a little Android centric but not too bad.

Engineers who used to work for Nokia are hoping to grab a share of the lucrative and highly competitive smartphone market with a new handset, which is based on the former world No. 1 mobile phone maker's old software and is faintly reminiscent of its recent models...

I hope to see another hw with sail soon. Bigger phone and bigger screen maybe add a pen to the mix or a clock. Jclock.

I'm not sure if they found a y use case where it was to weak or just read the spec and made up their own minds.

Has anyone managed to get Outlook.com account working with Exchange?

I tried to add my outlook.com account to Jolla and everything went fine but it won't sync anything.

I have all my Contacts, calendars etc on my outlook.com account. My companys Exchange account works fine, although it should require you to use a pin code, but seems that Jolla/Sailfish doesn't require it.

What are your settings that you're using? And you do know that Outlook.com can be setup with IMAP, right?

There should be an app for that!
(and it should come from Jolla so it asks the right questions, and be opensourced so we'll know it doesn't ask intrusive questions)

One gripe I do have is the status bar. When you double tap into the start screen/home screen, you see the clock and your Wi-Fi status showing. Why not also show the battery info to the right of the clock? .You could also show the network status just below the battery%

I just don't see the point in hiding the clock, network status etc.
My N9 had billboard showing battery status so I could see at a glance. The jolla requires me to double tap and then swipe just to check my battery.

p.s. I have fed this back to Jolla support team too.

Sorry my memory is just not that good plus I was busy picking up from two days away in Helsinki.
My typical usage is to leave apps open that I know I will come back to so typically 3 to 4 apps will remain open, plus I was making a multi tasking quick video for my blog so was trying out lots of open apps.
