Theres a pin on the other halfes that presses a switch in the back of the phone upon attaching. So the phone knows when a otherhalf is beeing removed or placed.

PS. Harri Hakulinen is Jolla Chief engineer.
Nitpick from coverage of MeeGo, where some media cited for example that Marc Dillon was 'the Principal Engineer at Nokia'.

We have multiple chief engineers in Jolla, so the right form is 'a chief engineer at Jolla'

(I'm myself a Chief Research Engineer, we have a Chief UI Engineer, but we call ourselves chiefs typically)

With --runtime, it tells me this: Failed to issue method call: Invalid argument

Without it, the command(s) work. First hour gone idling and 0% battery drained. Promising...

Removed OH but battery level seems to be dropping as usual. Though I gotta say one day is enough for me, but any improvement is welcome.

also just to make sure I got it right,

the
Code:
systemctl stop tohd.service
command on its own will stop the TOH check forever? A reboot will not start it again

Considering is one thing. Is there any info on how long this could take? I wouldnt mind if the update only fixes this single issue as I really dont like having to take my charger everywhere with me...

No, that only stops the service now... Check my post on page 2 in this thread and leave out '--runtime' (as mentioned) If You want it to persist across reboots...

I wouldn't personally do that, as You'll probably forget it at some point and wonder why it doesn't work when You change TOH...

I had to reboot and after that the command worked. Might be due to that I removed the other half and put it back. And when I tried to disable the service it actually never stopped.

Only after reboot and running the command stopped it.
Now monitoring battery usage.
