Some results.
The LED started flashing at 13:01 local time indicating a full battery, at which time I disconnected the charger. It is 15:40 as of this writing, and the display says 80%. Usage has been approximately:
- 1 hour FB chat while listening to audio from Yle Areena (Android app)
- 1 hour FB chat only
- 40 min idle with incoming messages bleeping and quick battery checks ~3..5 minutes apart
- screen at minimum brightness
- WLAN, 3G, BT on, GPS off
- BT tethering enabled but not active
- ssh connection over WLAN open but idle
- EDIT: email check every 15 minutes

BTW, if the custom ambience algorithm could be made with a slightly better contrast, especially the sent text in the message app, the screen brightness could be kept low.
Oh, and it's 15:52, and the battery has finally fallen to 79% between 15:46 and now. The phone has been idling with the screen off. I'd say the idle usage has improved remarkably.

Update: at 16:16, having idled until now, the battery is still at 79%. The phone was a bit slow to wake up, maybe it entered a deeper sleep mode?

took the nfc sticker out of TOH and the phone still consumes 20% of battery overnight (about 7-8hours). even with mobile data and wifi off. some ppl only losing about 4-6% overnight even with wifi/mobiledata on...kind of weird.

Five hours later my Jolla still shows 76%.
My test ends here for now as I'm leaving work and the phone will be in active use until late evening.
EDIT: Battery status dropped to 75% after 5 and half hours of idling on the table. 3gdata on, email (IMAP) sync every 2 hours and no active IM accounts.

I really not see the logical that remove OTH would fix the issue?
Its more logic that its daemon issue eg: daemon does not turn on/off reader as expected.
IMHO from no on the only recomendation save battery is to turn of the daemon as guide given.
if it still not work well then there are other battery issues that need fixes.
