RPM Installer allows you to install local rpm packages via gui.

Available on openrepos.net
Source code will be pushed to github repo
Application submited to harbour as well. I dont use any dirty hack here, so I hope it will be accepted.

Application will guide you through the installation process.
Before installation, package details will be show.
If any error occured, i.e. missing dependencies, or incompatible versions, they will be displayed.

No more console typing.

Note: After installation, run RPM Installer atleast once, so rpminstaller will check if handling is installed correctly.

Screenshots:
1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7)
  • 1) Small usage note
  • 2) No extra cover functions
  • 3) After downloading some rpms, they are shown at transfers window. Tap on "friends" package.
  • 4) RPM Installer will be lauched and shows extra details about package
  • 5) Selecting Install action
  • 6) Installing. If any errors, like missing deps, they will be shown.
  • 7) If package already installed on the system, current version will be shown

Yes, but in this case this is "misprint".

What happens to the system's pre-defined MIME type handler for rpm packages (yes, there is one), if you override it?
Android would let you choose the default app in this case, but Sailfish?

User defined mime handler added to ~/.local/share/applications/ for application/x-rpm
No global (system-wide) settings are modified.

Yes, that's fine, but still, there are two now.
Based on what logic will the system pick which?

xdg-open check user define, if no user is set, or target application is missing, system is used.
You can follow login by executing xdg-open in console.
