About the quality of calls: will Neo900 support AMR-WD (aka HD Voice)?

I don't know pretty much about how it works exactly. My real question here is more: will Neo900 be able to encode/decode HD Voice with hardware support? I guess it's always doable with a software but I wouldn't like to see my battery dying after 20 minutes of calling and my CPU overheating. Thus hardware support is my point.

Please see PLS8 modem specs:
>> Voice Support (HR, FR, EFR, AMR narrowband & AMR
wideband)
"voice encoding/decoding" for WWAN voicecalls is done inside the modem, one of the reasons why you can't send arbitrary data aka "encrypted calls" via normal voicecall-connection. AMR-WB encoding for SIP is done in software however, and I don't think it could get done in hardware easily - you'd need to write code for the DSP to offload encoding from CPU to the DSP coprocessor. If that would result in any lower total power consumption in the end is yet to be evaluated. Generally AMR-WB codec in software is not that heavy anyway, so offloading to a faster coprocessor is probably of no particular benefit.
