Hi All,

I'm having quite a bit of trouble removing the modified MOSLO on my N950 to then reflash the standard nokia image. I'm using a mac to try and do so....

I know I need to telnet into the device to remove the MOSLO using the steps on this page... https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nem...ling#N9.2FN950

However no matter what I try I just can't seem to get the telnet to connect to my N950. Is there anything obvious I would be doing wrong? It gives me the IP address to telnet to but I always get the same error:

Trying 192.168.2.15...
telnet: connect to address 192.168.2.15: Operation timed out
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host

Any ideas? It'd be much appreciated if someone could help out.

Is your usb network interface in UP and RUNNING state?

Have you installed RNDIS drivers to your mac? http://joshuawise.com/horndis

Your interface appears and can be configured with normal GUI after installing the driver.

Juiceme: I originally thought the USB network interface was up and running but now I'm not so sure. Is there anyway to check?

Rainisto: No I haven't actually, I'm at work at the moment so I can't check what that does, but ill do it when I get home.

You need to install the drivers in order to use it, just like @rainisto said.

After you have the driver in your system, I guess you can see the interface when you go to console and give command "ifconfig usb0" (or at least I asume so, as MAC's are a kind of BSD, right?)

I've installed the drivers but I'm still having issues, I'm not too sure on how to set up the usb network interface? When I believe I've got to a point when its working, it just always times out when trying to telnet.

With the normal GUI rainisto, is there anything special i'm meant to be doing to set it up? Multifunction Composite Gadget 3 seems to be appear when the N950 is plugged in, but it asks for an IP address a subnet mask and a router address. There's also a variety of ways to configure it by the looks of it?

The ifconfig usb0 type command also never seems to work? Always says usb0 does not exist or whatever port i use.

Does command "ifconfig -a" show anything related to USB networking when the device is plugged in and waiting for connection?
How about logs/dmesg? (I assume MAC has something like that, too...)

Right I finally managed to get the telnet working..... However when I went to try and remove the MOSLO it gave me an error.....

/ # autopartition.sh delete /dev/mmcblk0
ERROR: (Alt_OS) partition does not exist!
/ #
So I've somehow deleted the partition but MOSLO still exists. When I tried to then get rid of it, I got this error....

$ flasher -a moslo-rootfs-1.2011.34-2_RM680-OEM1-916_0.0.13-12.1.bin -L empty.img -f -R
flasher 3.12.1 (Oct 5 2011) Harmattan

WARNING: bad moslo format in empty.img
ERROR: Bad ape-algo format in moslo-rootfs-1.2011.34-2_RM680-OEM1-916_0.0.13-12.1.bin
So then I thought how about just using a simple flasher command to try and reflash the latest version of Harmattan.... But it won't do that either and it won't boot past the nokia logo. Does anyone know how I could possibly fix this? I'd be extremely grateful for any help

Jet247 do the following:

flasher -f -F rootfs.bin -F emmc.bin --no-preserve -R
