Been enjoying CuteSpotify daily, and the only real complaint is the shuffle mode, as it's way too hard to reach. I'd even go so radical, I'd change the favourite star to the shuffle toggle in the player.

I'm planning on having the shuffle and repeat buttons available via the large player interface when its ready. Until then (and perhaps even after then) I'm considering maybe trying to add a pulley menu to the bottom of the screen from the small player that shows those options (much like the official music player does).

That would be cool.

Hello Elleo,
since Spotify latest move, do you have any plan to add free account support to cuteSpotify ?

Hi Elleo first of all thanks for porting the app, I like it a lot.

However I recently had an issue:
Yesterday I started downloading a Playlist(400 songs) in WLAN,
then had to go out and changed to 3g connection and I believe it still downloaded the whole Playlist
(while having 2g/3g downloads not enabled).

EDIT: It should be fixed as of v1.3.0-12 thanks to Elleo

While this might not be possible to check inside the app please write a reminder in the app description. (It costs me quite some money to learn this as I used 1,6 gb while only having 1gb for free).

Note: I don't blame you for this but I think it would be just nice to notify others that this can happen, not that anyone else has to pay to learn this.

Thanks for taking note of this issue.

Hi Luke,

Terribly sorry about that, I just checked the code and it seems I have a little TODO item next to it about updating that stuff to work correctly in Qt5 back from when I initially ported it to Ubuntu Touch. I'll see about fixing it over the weekend and putting out a new release so no-one else gets stung by this.

New release now available here: http://mikeasoft.com/~mike/harbour-c...12.armv7hl.rpm

Changes:

* Fix detection of WLAN vs 3G/2G connection
* Add option to clear cache and offline storage when logged out (pull down menu on the login page)
* Add shuffle and repeat to a push up menu under the small player view.

EDIT: OK I managed to update now. Shuffle is now in its right place. same as native media player. But does it need to be in two places?

Also: Could you give us a little more information about the "larger player" your planning?

There's some discussion about this (which you might have already noticed):

https://together.jolla.com/question/...a-music-store/

particularly:

"Not sure I like the idea of one program to rule them all. In my experience it's better to have specialised programs. So if you use spotify get a spotify client instead of integrating god knows how many services in the gallery. Gallery should stay reasonably clean IMHO.
AxMi-24 (13 hours ago)edit

@AxMi-24 It wouldn't have to be hardcoded, they could use a plugin approach, if the user wants the functionality could install it or if worried about feature bloat leave it out. I am certainly not in favour of shoving things down people's throat that they don't want.
fasza2mobile (11 hours ago)edit"

which I think are valid arguments. Will user be able to choose only "cuteSpotify" if she/he doesn't want any other option?

Nice work you're doing, gotta give BIG thank you!
