Unbeliveable, I just noticed this notification problem and opened this thread. Looks like it's known problem and already fixed. Coderus: you do have worlds faster customer care!! 
edit: Looks like notifications are working and those are also shouwn in lock screen. Perfect.

I just upgraded from .24 to .26 and I have to say for the first time I have the feeling that online status of friends is updated in real time, with no status getting "stuck" as online. If that is indeed so (time will tell) then congratulations. If not then good job anyway, your work is much appreciated.
