Edit: Keyboard works great now that I've re-flashed and restored everything but packages relating to bluetooth!

I'm going nuts trying to get my new Stowaway XTBT01 working on my N800 with OS2008 installed, I get "Pairing Complete", the bluetooth icon turns blue, and when the pairing complete message disappears, so does my connection..

Trying to connect from command line "hcitool cc ADDRESS" also changes the icon blue for a brief moment, and then right back to white.

It connects easily and works right away with my Mac, so I'd guess the keyboard is ok.

Does anyone have any bluetooth keyboards working on N800 running OS2008?

Such a cute little keyboard, can't wait to actually get it working properly

I do have the Nokia Keyboard, and it has been working flawlessly. Also, I have been impressed by the new pairing scheme, via the keyboard panel (have you used it?).

I guess I've broken something then, I'm sure it'll be fun finding the culprit

can someone tell me how to switch layouts when using bluetooth keyboard? maemo-xkb-plugin doesn't work - installs fine, but then i can't start it in the control panel

To change how keys are mapped I use xmodmap //http://downloads.maemo.org/product/OS2007/xmodmap/. I couldn't find binaries for OS2008 but OS2007 ones work perfectly. Strangely enough the key I use as Alt Gr (to get Polish characters) have different code so I had to edit my xmodmap config file. It was easy to find using xev installed together with xmodmap.
I'm sure that there are instructions how to get it working but if you won't be able to find them, I would be happy to help.

EDIT: I just realised you probably just want to switch between already available layouts and not to create a new one, so xmodmap is not much help I guess.

My Stowaway XTBT01 works better with OS2008 then with OS2007 - It always connects strait away BUT only after I paired it from Bluetooth Keyboard applet. I don't know if it should make any difference but at first I paired it using Bluetooth applet and it only worked the first time. So I deleted my bt keyboard from known devices and paired using BT Keyboard applet. Since then it connects every time. I may be a coincidence though...

Original post: FWIW, I have been utterly unable to pair a new Stowaway Sierra with my new N800 running OS2008. See https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2640

EDIT: My mistake. When I tried the technique shown in the above thread (in comment #21), or (equivalently) here:
http://maemo.org/news/announcements/...08_update.html, and also paid attention to the timing of typing in the BT passkey, it worked fine! Still hardly consumer-friendly, but at least it does seem to work.
