Personally, while I pay attention so little that I wouldn't even notice when most things disappear, I find pruning of threads undesirable. Personally I don't support the removal of any post or thread unless its continued existence can be reasonably evaluated as harmful or severely distress-causing.
But i think the climate for discussions are better than in a long time since most attackers are gone. People are more friendly now days. Cheers.

I think it's easier to create a time machine, travel back in time, stop the renegade moderator, script or job that is deleting our threads rather than recreate all threads manually.
But both option present it's own set of challenges. What way to go?

I think if you had a time machine.... wouldn't it be better purposed in getting Nokia to acquire Palm for dirt cheap and kick out Symbian, leading to a MeeGo revolution?
Just gotta get in before Microsoft releases Windows Phone 7, and it'll all be a good three-horse race (iOS, Android, MeeGo).
