Actually, it's a little rough around the edges but the community is so active and the software updates so frequent... it will be another product in a few months

moto g and nexus 5
both lacks tv out and microsd card
i recommend
atrix 2(mb865)
sony acro s or acro hd

sony has waterproof capability until 1,5meter,tv out ,otg, microsd and many features
and support from sony, motorola dont used to give software update to their own phones
but in one atrix 2 you will pay around 70 bucks while on one sony around 200bucks in ebay
if i am not wrong galaxy s3 and s4 are good options but too me they are really big, oversized and very expensive(400-500) even the used ones so i always forgot/disconsider them.

hope it helps in your choose!

Atrix 2 is limited to 4.0, cannot be updated without a custom ROM past that iteration (read: No 4.4.2 to date). It has a smaller screen too - poor resolution.

TV out? Chromecast. Or some other way to not use wires. Sony? Seriously? Yet another phone that's limited to 4.0.

I'd say look for other options. More up-to-date options.

The Oppo Find 7a is a good choice for now, it's like 500 for a fairly beefy smartphone

If you're going Android, why not the OnePlus? $349 USD for 64gb and runs Cyanogenmod from the box; not a bad looking or sounding piece of kit.
