Brother sees my toys at Thanksgiving and buys his own N800 and identical think outside keyboard.
Everything works great until last weekend when he tells me about a weird problem. He had bought a cell phone and he tried to pair the keyboard with it but it did not work.
When he went to re-pair the keyboard with the N800, it exhibited an odd failure. Put the keyboard in pairing mode. N800 sees the keyboard just fine. When dialog on the N800 comes up with the pairing code and you select "OK", it is supposed to turn grey for a few seconds while you enter the code on the keyboard. Instead the N800 immediately says "pairing failed" without giving you even 1 second to enter the code.
So I try the usual trouble shooting including a complete re-flash of his tablet, deleting the old pairing, turning the BT off and back on, removing the batteries, pairing the keyboard with something else then coming back. All with no joy. The same "instant failure".
So now it gets wierder...
If I take my identical keyboard, it pairs just fine with his N800. And if I pair his keyboard with my N800, works just fine. So the obvious solution is to swap keyboards.
Any idea why?
