It's called "App Runtime for Chrome".

http://chrome.blogspot.de/2014/09/fi...coming-to.html

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/...ting-required/ :

" ... The app code is all running on top of the Chrome platform, specifically inside of Native Client. In this way the ARC (App Runtime for Chrome) apps run in the same environment as other apps you can download from the Chrome Web Store, even though they are written on top of standard Android APIs.
...
There is no porting required. It seems that Google has built an entire Android stack into Chrome OS using Native Client. Both OSes are based on Linux, making libraries, the app framework, and the Android runtime the big differences. ..."

Can we find the .deb files or get a new build of Chrome to compile and run in developer mode on the N9?N900? Apparently for desktop OSs including Linux this already works, since we want to run code that already was designed to run in a hacked JVM on ARM processors I think this an alternative Alien Dalvik to run the few Android apps for services that we otherwise couldn't access. Now maybe we can stuff our open beautiful clean N900s and N9s with bloated crapware spyware adware apps. Since the story made slashdot I suggest everyone interested grab https://github.com/vladikoff/chromeo...ive/master.zip right now in case google gets grabby over this.

Chrome for N900 thread.
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=60243
Links are dead, need the .debs or a fresh build.
I contacted the dev to get the files, so holding for .debs or someone to throw latest Chrome into scratchbox. Herw is the SVN for the build http://svn.jacekowski.org/chromium/trunk/
Can anyone with Chrome on their N9 or N900 follow the instructions and try the chrome APK plugin?

I feel like Jacekowski who built the Chrome for Maemo5 is or was active on TMO, apparently did some BME work too.

Has this even been ported to ARMv7 or is it x86 only?

I will contact the guy who did the APK environment once someone either digs up or builds native N900 Chrome and we do our own tests. We can review the code to see any obvious CPU specificity.
update, we need to run the plugin through scratchbox for it to work on ARM.
We need someone with working scratchbox to stick Chromium and this APK plugin for it to work.

On first pass this APK converter might be easier being all Java, I don't see anything specific to x86 but it still needs a working Chrome install.
