It is very impressive. I can't believe how fast and well it works way beyond VNC, using IE7 on my PC seems to fly much faster than when using my PC and google video is even almost passable on it (except there is no sound!).
It is a shame it is currently not being developed as it is obviously lacking a few things. Like sound (has anyone else got any sound out of it?), the use of the on screen keyboard (but you can use the windows one in the application folder of the pc), being able to switch apps to other 770 apps and right mouse click.
The only thing that is really killing me is IE7 doesn't have an optimise mode like the built in browser to make things fit and I can find no way to do a right mouse click, something I use all the time in windows.
Any ideas if there is a way to get a right mouse click?
As my main use of the 770 is around the house browsing I think I'll be using rdesktop far more than the built in OS for now...
Anyway, if you have an XP PC this is really one worth checking out.
This is what I was saying three weeks ago..
"The term for this used to be "thin client", and yes it's not fair to look at the 770 as anything but a networked device. But, as a practical matter, it's too hard to use my 770 this way, and especially in a VPN connection w/ a windows pc connected to my wifi router. It can't really do this at present for a wide range of applications."
Last night I installed Rdesktop for the first time and wanted to give it a big thumbs up for anyone who hasn't tried it.
