Just a messengerThat's why I cited the "source" - Reddit is not the most trustworthy source of information
Just a speculation: So if Amazon bought a license for Nokia brand name for its product, released a Nokia tablet and had it manufactured by Foxconn (or whatever manufacturer), Google would be completely fine with approving Play Services for such Nokia?
Also, Nokia has previously released Nokia X which used a fork of AOSP which is an exact violation of Google's rules.
I know they still can work something out, as Google certainly wouldn't mind a new brand on their side, but both Nokia and Foxconn have broken their rules.

If anyone in this thread didn't go to http://n1.nokia.com/ to check tech specs:
Btw, what does "eMMC 5.0" mean?It has Intel Atom cpu - I bet they'll protect the bootloader somehow, but when it gets cracked... Maybe it will be possible to install any Linux on it (not only Sailfish)
Another note - am I blind or is it pure-WiFi tablet? No GSM/3G/LTE/whatever modem at all...?
edit: and almost 8 inches screen... if it will be possible to install Linux on it, and a nice case with builtin keyboard will be available, maybe I will replace my old netbook.

The fact that @nokia on Twitter totally ignored me asking about the lockdown, tells me, yes, I am pretty sure it is locked down. This also seems like a fact when you know just a little bit about Intel and the existing devices based on their chip(py-****)-sets.
No sireyco ain't getting one.
