Marko has just released Video Camera (Beta) WITH video recording.

Works as advertised.

Enjoy!

Awesome!

And only two days after I made a request on Garage asking if it could be ported! I should have asked over a month ago!

Thank you Marko and thanks for pointing it out dkwatts.

Thanks for that info
I just installed it and it works really well, I'm also able to see the photo's that I took with the previously installed camera software. Kind of makes them one in the same, "nice."

Greetings:

I just installed the VideoCamera apps on my N800.

I just want to bring to your attention that in the setting for this videocamera if you choose to save to the SD Card it will not record anymore.

So there may be a bug.

But now its possible to send a video to your blog page, which is really great.

Regards Robert

Works great for me! Thanks. By the way, I have it set to save to the "removable memory card" and it works just fine.

When I pop out the camera the N800 automatically start up the internet call application. I do have to close that application and then start video camera.

Very nice.

Its a little buggy, but I love it already!

Feature suggestions/wishlist (most likely wishes):

1. This app should open by default for N800's when the camera is popped out.
2. Upload to youtube/dailymotion/blog/etc options would be great!

* Haven't tested it yet, but if I plug in a HD/Thumbdrive under host mode, will the app recognize it?

hillsdalebob: You can go into the Internet call => Tools => Settings to shut off the automatic launch of Internet call when the camera is extended.

That's the same thing that happened to me. I never noticed it before, but it struck me as annoying.

On a N810 I pointed it to the internal 2GB and hit Record. It "recorded" for 10-20 secs then rebooted the tablet. Afterwards there was an 1KB "avi" in a "video" subdirectory.

Now I'm afraid to try again :-)

BTW: I copied a recorded video from my NIT to my PC running Windows. Media Player Classic and Windows Media Player 11 play the video, but the audio syncing is a bit off. It appears the audio plays at the correct rate, but the video is slower.
