Have anyone done it?

Can we bypass maemo and go directly to KDE?
If we can we could modify the boot option and make it go directly to KDE.

Why not just keep it running? That's what I do... start it up into KDE and just don't turn it off - Maemo power management still works great while in KDE so there's really not need to shut it off.

Don't wanna hijack this thread, but, while on the subject of power management....Is there a simple way to view the battery life from KDE?

It's a command-line app to do that, available from some repo. Graphical wrappers may or may not exist. I know someone set up a script so they could click a button and flite would read the battery capacity...
