A curious thing happened. I was playing with the widget. Basically just moving the lock screen up and down to see how it moves. When, all of a sudden, the screen went black and the LED started flashing fast green, like when lilstick is restarting. When the screen came back, a few things happened:
  1. The screen background was gone. Just black, no picture. In lock and home screen only, the fuzzied background would still show in some system apps and in the covers.
  2. The MeeCast widget was gone.
  3. The internet was gone. It would connect, only to auto-disconnect in a second or two and announce that WiFi was switched off. This would go in a loop forever.
  4. MeeCast would not start. Or, rather, would start for a split second, display "no locations set" and shut down.

A reboot fixed 3 and 4, although MeeCast had lost all its locations. Setting them up again and enabling the widget in settings fixed that, as well as 1 and 2.

Any idea what may have happened?

I am not sure I follow. What about it would be non-Sailfish style? I promised to adapt the format to fit Sailfish covers and admit I am behind - is that it or something else?

Also, another idea. I just recently noticed that swiping the cover canges the location. How about an option to change either the location or the date?

Oh, and another thing. Is there a possibility to move the widget around a bit? I would like it a bit lower so it does not conflict with the date/network name text and a bit to the right so it is the same distance from the edge as the notifications on the left:

I do not expect you to do it, just give me a hint if there is a QML file to edit somewhere. I could not find it.

Hi folk.
I've forgotten say about position of widget on wallpaper screen.

Hint
You can create the file
/home/nemo/.config/harbour-meecast/lockscreen.conf and write 2 lines to this file:
x_position=200
y_position=100

Then change station in MeeCast or change wallpaper in phone.

After it you must see MeeCast's widget on new place on lockscreen.

Vlad.

Hi.
I've uploaded the new version of MeeCast Daemon to OpenRepos.
https://openrepos.net/content/vasvlad/meecast-daemon

Changelog:
* Moved a little bit down wallpaper widget
* Fixed problem in daemon with incorrect weather forecast data

just a simple qml extension (example header) and in base component class get all useful data via dbus and provide it using properties and signals when properties are changed.

After seeing that Jolla plans to add a weather widget by themself into lockscreen in the future (https://lists.sailfishos.org/piperma...ry/005512.html), how about bringing up a topic on next community meeting to get 3rd party plugin support for this? Kinda like on N9 where Meecast replaced the official weather widget.

Next community meeting topic proposals can be edited here: https://together.jolla.com/question/...ting-planning/
