is there any way to use maps and drive without having a nokia account? i have used drive for a while before wiping my phone (it was used and the old owner left his account in) and really liked it. i tried registering a nokia account, but it required way too many informations (why would they need my address?) and it's going to be suppressed by microsoft in 04/2015 anyway. i also don't feel like giving my personal info to microsoft/nokia

But what will happen if I flash my N9 after everything is closed down.
Will we still be able to login to our Nokia accounts? If no, how do access maps then?

at least, i'm not able to register (on my nokia n9 i get "Unknown error. Try again later. :522"), can anyone confirm this?

nevermind, i used invalid characters in the password (. ' =) and they aren't allowed. nokia accounts work fine (for now ;__; )

I can confirm this. I've trying to make an account for the last week at least, and I just can't. The message is always that the service isn't available...

Hello,

We’re writing to let you know that effective April 24th, 2015, you’ll no longer be able to sign in to HERE apps using your Nokia Account. This is due to recent changes
https://e.here.com/pub/cc?_ri_=X0Gzc...bQp9b_GXJJSwAM.
in Nokia services.

After April 24th, any places that you saved with your Nokia Account on your device will remain on your device, and you’ll still be able to use them. However, those places can’t be synced with other HERE services.

If you’d like to save your collected places for future use, please register for a HERE account at account.here.com
https://e.here.com/pub/cc?_ri_=X0Gzc...bQp9b_GXJJSwAM.
and do a one-time import of your saved places. Imported places will only be shown on HERE apps that also use a HERE account (here.com, HERE on Windows 8, HERE on Windows Phone 8 and the new HERE apps on Android & iOS).

We hope you’ll continue to enjoy using HERE products
. If you have any questions, please contact us at appsupport@here.com.

Sincerely,

The HERE app team

now is your last chance – you’ll have up until April 24th to do so

How can I backup(/clone to other N9) all the downloaded Nokia map data on device from 2012?
About 13 GB data from /MyDocs/cities,
but what else?

Better older maps than nothing.
