Hi there, I have a very odd bug on my N900, it doesn't charge with the official power supply, but only via the (origial) USB adapter cable powered by the computer.

On the original (and all other chargers) the device doesn't detect any power connection (wether status bar nor dmesg).
I already did full restart, removed batteries etc. but since weeks the problem persists. Any ideas that don't include an full factory reset?

Treat the USB port with extreme care.

Your symptoms suggests some impending problems. N900 USB is known to come off very easily, so if you can fix it while you still have time.

Otherwise, it could just be that your official supply is dead now, and other chargers will not work on N900 unless they follow USB charging specification very closely (which is that data lines must be shorted).
