Flickr API went SSL-only starting from June 2014. Quite recently maemo users managed to update the n900 version of QuickFlickr client to support SSL.

Would anyone here be interested in updating the N9 version? It used to be a great app and Marko, the original developer dropped the project years ago.

I really liked the 'photos taken near me feature. Would love an updated https version for N9.

Probably flickroauth.cpp holds the secret to unlock the network.
Although my QT creator can connect to my phone, I can't build
anything as I lack skills in setting up debuggers and compilers on my Windows.

Ok, I have been able to build and package up an instance of Quickflickr for Harmattan. However, as I have no N9, and the Qt SDK apparently can't emulate an N9, I have absolutely no way to test it.

What I have done is created a QSslConfiguration object and set the protocol to TlsV1, and then changed every instance in the code of "http" to "https". However, I'm not certain that all of these should have been changed... But anyway, in theory, at least authorization should now be enabled.

I've got a .deb package, which I will attach to this post. I dunno exactly how installation of apps goes on Harmattan devices, so I'm not sure you can use this to install the app; but if you manage to do it, please tell me if it at all works. Thanks!

Installs fine by sending app via Bluetooth provided allow install from other sources. Don't seem to be offered code to enter on Flickr authorisation screen from browser so have to log in each time application opened. Able to upload photos successfully although get error message of page not found after upload and no information upon recent activity.

In my case quickflickr is now fully operational, including authorisation, search and adding comments. No issues so far, although I had to restart the app after first logon to update contacts and recent activity tabs. Thank you so much. Maybe we could add it to Openrepos?

Does this have a benefit over FlickrUp? I'm not using my N9 as my daily driver anymore, so I haven't had the chance to try QuickFlickr for myself, yet.

The lack of uploading never bothered me, since when QuickFlickr was working, so was the Flickr sharing plugin, which worked better than FlickrUp -- at least for me -- when the N9 is chock full of pics. FlickrUp took forever to scan them all and generate thumbs for them before you can upload. Probably wouldn't be a serious issue for a more reasonable number of photos stored. But I still use an N900 and N9, so I'm probably not reasonable to start with . . .
