I have also looked for the drivers with no success. The link on Nokia's site is dead.
Have you tried connecting to another laptop/pc?

Of course. Works perfectly on every other device except one particular laptop.

Oh, and by the way: I was once the factory quality engineer for the N800 so I'm at least a little familiar with it. That's one reason I'm so amazed to be encountering this problem-- after hundreds of flashings!

Oh well. Now I can't get my PC to add music the the N800 properly. It shows both of the cards when I connect it, one of them being used for virtual memory. The other one is completely blank. I tried adding music to it, but the tablet couldn't locate it.

Troubleshoot?

Could someone explain what virtual memory is?

Think of it as fake RAM. Your desktop computer can do the same thing using hard disk space, but I would imagine that that is considerably slower than a flash card.

In another thread, someone mentioned a patch for Windows XP that corrects a problem with virtual drives. Could that help in your case?

Any idea on the thread it could have been? There are a hundred search terms I could try for that.

"The link on Nokia's site is dead."

What do you do in that case, file a bug report? And if the whole site went down, there would be a vote on whether it was worthy of being fixed?

Or is there someone at Nokia who is responsible for making its links work?

Sorry, my sarcasm filter just overloaded.

To Rezi: offhand, no... but if I find it I'll post it.

EDIT: I found the thread, but nothing in it after all that looks related to your reported problem. One user received an error and made this change to his XP registry to correct it:

I can't find the link to the MSN report, but I can see that what I did was change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\LanmanServer\Parameters
IRPStackSize=18
...but I'm not sure if that will help you.

Can you be more specific about your error? Can you post screen captures?

Nah, I got it. It took a little while, but it's working now.
