Here is everything spelled out for you in easy steps. I did this a month ago and it works perfectly. Works great for getting email on the run. not too useful for website browsing or streaming media.

P.S. I don't have a data plan and this is truly DUN. I was kind of impressed with the speed.

I think Verizon is supposed to open thinkgs up shortly and I am hoping that they will start allowing for the Bluetooth DUN connection. If someone knows a good workaround, I would love to hear about it.
BTW, on Verizon even if you have a full data plan for your phone, if you use DUN (cabled) there is a recurring charge of about $20 a month.
Check howardforums - most of these phones can be enabled without the cable. BTW - i've received charges of $800 for doing this (I had Verizon reverse the charges - but my wife was non too happy with me).

I just got my Verizon RAZR to work!
I had to add the data plan and a tethering option for a total of $60. (And re-programmed the phone by dialing *228)
I deleted the old phone pairing and re-paired the phone. During the set-up wizard, I selected the Verizon option, keeping the information as is and only added the vzw password.
It worked.
It's slower than the WiFi connection but I now have my Verizon iPhone.

mattaggie,

Did you get charged by VZW for using your phone as Bluetooth DUN? I have no data plan and was wondering...

Thanks!
