If these tablets find there way into the wild, the Android version, and are cheap. Think am going to buy one and stick SFOS onto it. It's already been done with no issues.

so they accepted general terms of use on IGG, but put their own where they don't promise anything. So tell me how this is not a scam...

Using that logic, every failed crowdfunded project would be labeled as scam.

I think scam is definitely the wrong word here.

They started with the best intentions. They just misled and covered up with ambiguity their screw ups.

I do still wonder what the significance of "buying time" was. They announced the bad news after weeks of hot air, 366 days after the initial IGG announcement. Did they have to last a full year for something to be made official?

I have ordered a Tablet via yoybuy.com . Its been on hold due to the New Year. They have now updated the order to purchased. when They get it, I pay the taxes, shipping etc.. and then they send it on to me.

I dont want to make the situation here any worse

So the question is :

1/ Do I report back my progress, as and when it happens

or

2/ Just Shut the f**** Up?

Report, please.

Thank you for sharing the current state too - both are very valuable to all of us who need a tablet and are willing to undertake risk #2 with the Jolla Tablet, if we don't happen to be among the 540 lucky ones.

I know I could buy a cheap Android tablet instead (all I need it for is reading pdfs, currently), but there are two reasons I might risk the Chinese route:
  1. I would love to develop some apps for the tablet.
  2. It would be a shame if those tablets were to end up with Android in the hands of random people, rather than in this community.

PS: You can hardly make this thread any worse It is refreshing to see some helpful information.
