After entering devel-su it is asking for a password. And I do not know the root password for the N9.

copy/paste each single block into terminal and press enter
So, to be on the safe side (added one -possibly needed- line break), do:

Thank you. I have followed your instructions, then used the text editor to open the file /etc/hosts to verify that the code is present.......and it is.
I have never used copy and paste on the N9. Not really sure how. So I used a bluetooth keyboard and typed in the commands.

You could also use WinSCP - remotely login as root and use the built in editor to modify hosts file in the blink of an eye.
