The Jolla Tablet is a beautiful looking device, but there are no real apps. - please dont start on the compile your own - I tried I cant.

So has anyone else got any other (up to date) OS running on the Tablet?

Just wondering. What apps do you want/need that are missing?

Why not activate Android support?

Why not sell it and buy an iPad Mini or an equivalent Android device?

+1!

There are precious few Jolla tablets as it is. Reducing the number further seems wasteful when you can get a very decent spec Android tablet for the money you would get for your Jolla one.

Thanks for the replays, though not unexpected

I dont want to switch to anything apple - I dont have any other apple products, I dont really want an android tablet.

I guess im just frustrated as I really like the Tablet hardware, Sailfish is almost there. I wanted a linux tablet, I had hoped that as it was "linux" i could roll my own, but that does not seem to work as most of the source that I downloaded, brought up errors and generally did not work. - sadly my skills are limited.

There are so few tablets about that native apps are limited in number...

I just thought/hoped there may be a road (or should that be river) out of the current cul-de-sac ( I have no idea what the nautical equivalent of a dead end road is)...

I guess I will have to try and improve my coding skills

A brief history of Sailfish in three stages:
  • Stage 1: Catch up with and overtake the competition
  • Stage 2: Keep pace
  • Stage 3: Try to not lose the trail

Not sure about other languages,
but some refer to as
a certain creek you might find yourself upstream in,
usually lacking a paddle (oar).

I've been waiting to be able to buy an official sailfish device that works in the US since jolla was founded. I envy your position.
