I have got to dig and see what other wild combos they have thrown together into a rugged power bank phone

Definitely double agreed on antix. (superb distro ....has been one of my mains for a long time. excellent bulletproof distro)
Triple agreed on the need for tethering options.
and lastly biketool...
Quadruple agreed on the chinese alt.
Checking them out ...
not a bad option.

(as far as the option for a linux handheld goes, I am afraid the C.H.I.P. and it's ilk may be the best offering...as far as what we'd like...telephony with a linux running system..under the hood. We already have it ...antiquated as it is...in the nxx0 series...I am way past aghast and mortification concerning Ubuntu folding up it's investment in the phone end of things ....as well the neo project.
, esp. considering my 1/2 down investment in it...but my expectation and morale on the issue sits at a "0" right now. Not a negative , not a positive...gotta wait and see ,and hope for the best...though I have noted that it has been getting quieter and quieter on the neo front.)
