Almost all of my watches are automatic watches. I hate winding, batteries and charging. Why hasn't there been an automatic (movement) smartwatch yet?

Yes, in many ways the technology has gone backwards.

WP is dead. But seems Microsoft lobbying windows10 on embedded. My favourite electronic engineer, eevblog, did get some embedded in his mailbag recently package with embedded kit seems very cheap kit including windows10 license so M$ lobbying hard...

for those interested, forward around 9 minutes where he gives some feedback of the devkit seems to be a nice kit with USB3.

Have one Eco-Drive as well, it was a gift. Does its job wonderfully. Still bothers me that there are no wearables or auxiliary devices, like a Bluetooth headset that has that feature. All require a plugin. Meh.

Nope, its HMD. Nice slabs for android devices, though.

My better half's got da model 8, and it got updated to Oreo last week. I was somewhat impressed on that even though fast update cycle was promised.

As for myself, I wouldn't touch it with a pole before the bootloader is unlockable and AOSP package available.

Nokia 8 is way beyond my range but I almost ended up buying Nokia 3 for my daughter. It was number 2 on my shortlist of 3. I liked the fact that it was about as pure Android as it gets, with no added crap. I would have bought it even though a better spec device was available for only a bit more but then an even better spec got reduced and... the rest is history
