Well...
Had an interesting day today..
Coming home on the ferry to my little island from work...
I left one of my n900s on the seat on the ferry...
(I usually take one and a smaller harp to work...so I can use gtkgep and jam out...while working ...lov3 my job....)
didn't realize I had left it on the ferry until I got home...
The morning rush hour for people who work in the city and students ...were boarding and...
I held zero hope of it being returned.
Got on the ferry headed for work 5 min ago...
Asked one of the deckhands if they had a phone that looked like "this" and held up another of my n900s I brought with me.
He said yup...it was turned in this morning...
I was quite surprised...while he went to get it.
He said they get 3 a day ...on average...of folks who leave their phones on the ferry...and that are turned in...
Quite the testament to the good nature of my islands folks I must say.

Good thing too...
There was good blackmail video footage of me and my woman on that particular n900.

Good for you and good for the Canadians. How uplifting to read something like that as the first story of the day.

I can think of quite a few countries where such a thing would be hard to imagine. I can also think of one or two where it might also happen.

Honestly I cannot say the same of everywhere in canada...though it would be nice to be able to.
I have had experiences like that repeatedly over the years in various smaller and removed communities such as where I live.

I have lived as well...
in cities and more densely populated areas...
It tends to be the revervse.
Where ...once lost...whatever the object may be...it is gone...permanently .

Sweet! Maybe they was so amazed when the n900 appeared that they didn’t know how to act. It was so unlike anything phoneWise they ever seen or experienced. Same feeling you get when you’ll see your first Alien roaming the streets.

when I go to put the tree up and decorate....

(I only drink twice a year...in the summer when we have our hottest spell...then it is time for outdoor work and fun with cold cold beer...
and at christmas time ...nog and rum ...and of course ...the rare snort of old old single malt Irish whiskey...with friends..)

Indeed. Why break tradition! It’s not like we are having any new Cool tech discovery to investigate.

Eggnog is one thing. There is absolutely no reason for not having it any time of year.

But the TREE???

Putting it up before Christmas Eve (or the nearest weekend before that, for convenience, if your job involves a long commute like mine) is a travesty of reason, decency and anything to live for.
