I'm still stuck with too many loud noises using OKboard. So unfortunately cannot use it. Does anybody know the cause, or why it is only happening with some phones and not all?

Bug report for OKBoard: I cannot swipe the word "that". It generally guesses "thwart" or "Thar" or sometimes "eBay" - "that" isn't even in the list of alternate possibilities. I've had "Enable learning" toggled on for a while, in the hopes that it would pick it up from all the times I've backspaced "Thar" and typed "that", but no dice. Any idea as to how I can fix this?

This looks like a known bug that was supposed to be fixed. Check that you are using the latest version (0.6.17).
Then please remove the file ~/.local/share/okboard/en-user.txt (but keep a backup copy).
Restart the keyboard (for exemple uncheck then check the "enable okboard" checkbox in OKboard settings application).
And tell me if it solves the issue. If it does, send me above backup file if this is acceptable for you (this file contains all new words you have added to the dictionary).
And do not expect quick fixes at this period of the year

OKBoard doesn't seem to work with the new Sailfish 3.0.2.8 anymore:

Code:
# pkcon install okboard-full
Resolving
Testing changes
Finished
Fatal error: okboard-full-0.6.17-1.armv7hl requires libpython3.4m.so.1.0, but this requirement cannot be provided
Python 3 has been upgraded to 3.7.2:

https://together.jolla.com/question/...3-python3-base

I guess OKBoard (and other apps linking against libpython) will have to be rebuild.

An update would be possible, please? As OkBoard is a basic app for daily use in SailfishOS nowadays.

eber42's reply from OKBoard's repository:

I am currently abroad and have not access to development devices, so next release is probably one or two weeks away.

OKBoard 0.6.18 is out now, and works fine with Sailfish 3.0.2.8.

Possibly dumb question : but how to dismiss the keyboard?
Normally I just swipe it down and I have free view. But with OKBoard this seems not possible instead creating weird input...

Okay as I understood it now in portrait mode it works the intuitive way. Do not try to grab and swipe down with the letters but grab the row with the prediction and it works.
But in landscape (the way I tend to write) this does not work

Anyone?

Just after editing my above post I tried another possibility and now it is clear:
OKBoard cannot be swiped down when having 'allow split keyboard in landscape orientation' enabled.
Bug or feature?

Confirmed here.
Honestly landscape is not really the target usage for Okboard, but I'll add this to my backlog anyway (I understand it may be annoying if you switch a lot between landscape & portrait)

Thank you for updating Okboard

I'm guessing that users can't swipe between languages?

That's fine if not, having swype is more important than having a second keyboard
