Thanks for the story! Well played christmas. Maemo christmas. I might get a N900 from a friend who I didn't know even had one. He said he had waited the new software but stopped waiting. Of the nine N900 I've already given 3 away, promised to give one to a friend who will start to play too and got a connection I didn't expect through this give away.

endsormeans: Great Christmas story! You are lucky all that happened otherwise you would not have such a wonderful tale to tell! Most interesting stories come from the challenges we must overcome.
On a personel note a few days before Christmas our broken dishwasher was finally repaired. One of the highpoints of the holiday season for us!

Well here it is not really a challenge
(for me anyways...for others who are not prepared in any way it is a nightmare...but I have lived in fa more remote places and in the heart of cities...power outages come from some nasty nasty storms we get ...every so many years...
a month without power was my record during one of the worst ice storms of the century...so I believe in being prepared and having fun with an outage...most people here think the same...it is an opportunity to get chores done, catch up on reading and hobbies...).

and yes Dave we will have to get the verdict on your book...

and I haven't mentioned it yet in the "latest section"

a freakin' linux laptop for $99 ...
it has a few things that the reviewer didn't care for or found issue with...but frankly that was mainly due to trying to produce a linux laptop for under $100...
I am astounded by the fact they did it.
I am considering getting one in the new year..
I have been looking around for a good kick around linux laptop that was small and light.
