Apologies if I'm nitpicky (and possibly annoying) on the subject, but it's the main reason I'm even interested in the Pro1 (yes, more so than the HWKB)
I guess that's the real estimate though. I can talk for Sailfish I have been working on, the UI is running as proof-of-concept (and there was a video of it), but getting it to a usable state is a much more effort.

Recently two more persons got involved, and we are working to redo the base in a more sane and maintainable way, then we can process with getting more of the hardware enabled in Sailfish and polishing the port.

As for dual-boot, it seems technically possible to me in the same fashion as Gemini PDA (multiple boot partitions + selecting the one to boot from at device startup though key combination or menu). However, don't take my words as confirmation, as there might be more difficulties with modifying bootloader of retail devices ("thanks" to Secure Boot) compared to development prototypes.

Thanks a lot for your answers TheKit. I hope you can share more details in the near future!

I'll buy the Pro1 day one without any hesitation, but having multiboot is a key milestone for me before I can use it as my main device: I don't want to use Android as my main OS, which means I am looking forward to having a usable Sailfish port, and I need to run some APKs on a regular basis too (in a dual boot, I don't mind).

Thanks to you and the two other contributors for your work on the Sailfish port, I think it is safe to say that it is very much appreciated here.

Here are the promised images, compared it with N900 and an iPhone X

https://postimg.cc/gallery/1kg8sc3qi/

My overall impressions - God, it looks awesome !! The phone looks better in person than on the photos.

The phone itself is built like a tank. The screen is gorgeous.

The keyboard is a little bit wide for my taste, but not something that would be a dealbreaker.

The layout is different from PC, there is a learning curve, but it would be possible to blind type after you are getting used to this layout(and probably it would be better for your carpal tunnel syndrome)

I don't know what else to add, I'm super excited for this opportunity to play with pre-production device and to meet cool people that are passionate with their work.

Thanks Chen for inviting me, I doubt that any other phone manufacturer would invite some random guy from the internet to play with expensive phone prototype

And in the former case, will it be possible out of the box (like the Gemini I believe), or will it depend on the community being able to come up with a multiboot solution as they did with the N900?
As far as I understood it won't have multiboot out of the box, but there is already work done in order to allow flashing custom rom with multiboot.

Perhaps, bring a sd card with and OS you can boot from

maybe a little review of how it feels in the pocket. Or how it feel going from a n900 to pro and back.

See the link to the gallery, completely missed the pocketabilty part, but the device is not much larger than my iPhone, so I don't see an issue with that.

So maybe you simply could try how many wpm you get in comparison to the N900, maybe you could even try to make a video? I would be quite curious. Thanks
Tried that, possible but not usable

We've streamed other video content, run smoothly as expected.

The same, even if there will be only qwerty or qwertz layouts.

About this, when (if ?) new layouts are released, will it be possible to order only the new keyboard or touchs and to change it by ourself ?

Considering how close we are, do we have an exact release date yet?
